February 3, 2011July 14th, 2011 at 12:51PM
The LLHH Board met at 6:40 p.m. at the VFW Northenders on Thursday February 3, 2011. The following board members were in attendance: Gary Wells – President, Dave Ryan – Treasurer, Janet Shures – Treasurer, Unrepresented – Decatur, and Wayne Shures – Shannon Elliott Rochester, Tim Dixon Chatham Glenwood, Doug Nelson Springfield, Dan Wellman Sacred-Heart Griffin. Unrepresented – Champaign. These were the only members in attendance. Bob Brandon arrived after the start of the meeting.
Gary asked if everyone had had a chance to review the minutes from the last meeting. Gary then asked for a motion to accept the minutes. The motion was made by Doug Nelson and seconded by Janet Shures and passed unanimously.
Gary then asked for a treasurer’s report. Janet reported a balance of $44,517.45. Janet then presented information that will be filed with the 2010 990 Tax Return. Gary called for a motion to approve the Income & Expense Statement. That motion was mad by Dave Ryan seconded by Wayne Shures, and passed unanimously.
Under old business, Gary discussed end of season play. Due to some weather issues a number of games remain un-played and up in the air. Gary explained some possible scenarios and who may play when. Right now we are not going publish that. Gary also reviewed the play off rules. As it stands now we can not determine the final rankings.
The new playoff dates are looking like they Feb 9.14 and 16 or Feb 14, 16 and 23. This still remains to be determined and the league will notify team officials.
Moving on to practices, Gary said they were supposed to end on 2/6/2011. He said practice ice for 2/13/2011 may be in question.
The next item covered was player eligibility for the playoffs. Gary said he asked for a request for anyone who would need a waiver for playoffs. Gary said he had only heard from Champaign who had an injured player who had not played the minimum number of games. So through a board vote the following player will be eligible to play in the playoffs. Those players are Herges, Stone and Kolaz. This motion was made by Doug Nelson and seconded by Dan Wellman. The measure passed on a voice vote, with the Rochester and Chatham clubs voting.
The next matter was Senior night. Gary said if it was going to be done it would need to be done soon. Gary said the league should consider moving senior night to January due to the cost of flowers in February.
Regarding playdown games, Gary said that only Champaign and Sacred Heart Griffin were the only two clubs participating.
Gary asked Tim for a report on the Chatham coach. Tim said Jesse had resigned Monday evening. Following this news, Wayne Shrures made a motion to approve Bob Brandon as the new head coach for Chatham Glenwood. This motion was seconded by Tim Dixon. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote.
Under new business, Gary said the season will be over soon. There was quite a bit of discussion about the inter-league play and how this might or might not take place next year.
So at 7:36 PM the meeting was adjourned.
