LLHH October Board Meeting Minutes

 November 2nd, 2011 at 9:14PM

The Board of Director of the Lincoln Land High School Hockey League met on Thursday October 8, 2011. At the VFW Northenders. The following members were in attendance President Gary Wells, Vice-President Dave Ryan, Treasurer Janet Shures, Rochester Wayne Shures, Jeff Rocco, – SHG, Rob Olson,  Frank Earl and Jennifer Yborra – Decatur, Tim Dixon – Glenwood, Doug Nelson – Springfield  Carrie Kmoch – Champaign.

Gary called the meeting to order at 6:40 pm.

Gary said that the minutes had been posted on the website.  Gary asked if any changes or additions were needed.  None were noted.  A Motion to approve the minutes was made by Tim and seconded by Doug.

Moving on Gary asked Janet for a treasurer’s report.  Janet reported

Hickory Point Bank     $     966.46

HCU MMF                  $22,414.76

HCU Checking Acct.   $  4,881.33

There was a motion to approve the treasurer’s report made by Wayne and seconded by Tim.

Moving on to old business Gary said the league would consist of six teams this year.  It will be Champaign, Decatur Varsity, Decatur JV, Springfield, SH-G and a combined team made up of Chatham and Rochester.

Gary confirmed that all needed to complete their registration. He said the deadline is 10/15/2011.  He said if there were issues we needed to consult with Laura Johnson from AHAI. 

Gary reminded the board that by-law need to be updated on or by the November meeting.

Gary suggested a fee of $2700 for the two Decatur teams and the Champaign team. Gary asked for a motion on this.  The motion was made by Jeff and seconded by Doug. The motion passed unanimously.

Practice for the Springfield teams will begin on Wednesday 11/2/2011.

The number of league games will be 15 with one home and one away and the other five games will be a round robin based upon how teams finished last year.  Games will start on Nov 28th in Springfield.  Games times in Decatur will be 7 PM to 8:30PM. The gate fees will remain the same as $3 for adults and $2 for kid.

Gary reminded the board that all coaches must be approved by the league.  Gary asked that he be provided a listing of coaches at or before the November meeting.

Under New Business Gary said he would. need dates as soon as possible if teams had black out dates for finals in December.

Gary then discussed concussion testing.

The last item on the agenda had to due with rule 615C  says that if a player takes off his helmet, or takes off the helmet of the other player the offending player will receive a match penalty.  The bottom line is DO NOT TAKE YOUR HELMET OFF for any reason.

The meeting was adjourned at 7”45 pm.
