What was left of the LLHH Board from the last season, as well as some new representatives met at the Nelson Center to discuss the season. Dan Wellman convened the meeting. Dan said the first order of business was for the board to elect officers. An assessment of who was in what positions and who might fill those roles was the first order of discussion.
Those in attendance were Dan Wellman Heather Dohn, Jeff Brown, Bob , David Hay, Shane Brilley, DeAnna Sullivan, Bob Brandon, Steve Schulz, and Dave Ryan
There were a group of folks who voiced interest in helping in filling the three positions of Vice-President, Treasurer and President and trying to make the board work. Discussion was had who might fill these roles.
Jeff Brown - President
David Hay - Vice President
Ted Tracy - Treasurer
This slate of candidates was put forth as a motion by Dan, It was seconded by Heather. The motion was voted on and passed on a unanimous voice vote.
The team count looks like it will be the same as last year, the only question that remained was Champaign. Following a quick text it was confirmed that they,in fact, will field a team, within the LLHH league.
The plan was to have games to start in December, with practices beginning in the first part of November. The Nelson Center has provided both practice times and game times for the league.
Tactics for game times, days, dates and locations were discussed, with Dan Wellman volunteering to put a scheudule together. The next discussion had to do with the number and set up of teams, i.e. who will play on what teams. This only affected the Springfield teams.
The discussion on teams and alignment continued, and was agreed would need to reconvene the matter at a later date. The Springfield teams will do this and will not need the help of Decatur, Champaign and Bloomington.
This covered all of the board matters.
The next board meeting will be October 7 at 6:30 PM. and again on October 28th. The VFW Northenders was discussed as a location, but it will need to be confirmed later following some conversation with the VFW.
