The LLHH Board of Directors met at 6:30 p.m. at the VFW North enders. Those in attendance at the meeting were Dave Ryan, Gary Wells, Heather Dhom, Brett Chairo and Steve Schulz. The Chatham, Decatur and Champaign clubs were not represented. Gary called the meeting order at 6:50 pm.
There were no minutes to report at the meeting and there was no treasurer's report either.
Under old business, Gary reported that Champaign had only 12 players and were not sure if they would play in LLHH. Gary said our league rules call for 14 players, but we could waive that if need be. Gary said his opinion was that we not allow them to play unless they could meet that minimum requirement. The board discussed this and wanted to make sure that the club understood it was about the logistics of fielding a team with that few of players. The low numbers could cause forfeits due to injuries and academic ineligibility.
As Chatham Glenwood was not heard from nor represented at the previous meetings, the league is moving ahead with this season. Unfortunately, if the team is not represented and the league is not contacted in the very near future of the team's is unlikely.
SHG wanted to talk to the board about the team alignments. There were some parent/coach/player alignment concerns. Gary said based on what he knows today things will remain as they are. Regarding the combined status of team's they will remain virtually the same for the season.
Gary reminded team reps that all players have to be USA Hockey registered by 10/15/2014.
LLHH home practices will start the first week in November, with a plan for league games to start the last week in November or the first week in December.
As we head into the league season, we are currently planning on a season of 4 teams playing each other 3 times in the regular
Gary said there was going to be a rule change regarding teams submitting a play off roster prior to the playoffs. This was the result of an incident from last season.
Gary asked to see all of the coaches screening and certification documents. SHG and Bloomington provided the appropriate documents.
Regarding admission fees to LLHH games, Gary said he had contemplated doing away with the fees all together, due to the low number of teams and player count. The board seemed to be in agreement with Gary's idea.
At 7:40 the meeting was closed.
