LLHH November Board Meeting

Posted: November 12, 2009 9:02PM; Updated: December 03, 2009 8:12PM The LLHH Board met at 6:30 p.m. on November 12, 2009 at the VFW Northeders (located at 2349 Stockyards Road Springfield, IL. The following members were in attendance: Dave Ryan Treasurer, Gary Wells President, Shannon Elliott, Wayne Shures - Rochester, Bill Sheffer, Decatur, Jeff Rocco – SHG, Sherry Fields GHS, Doug Nelson – SHS, and Terry Weems CYHA Vice-President Andy Gordon (Absent). Gary called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. Gary asked for a motion to approve the minutes as posted on the web site. This motion was made by Sherry Fields and seconded by Shannon Elliott . It passed on a voice vote.
Gary then asked for a treasures report. Dave reported the following balance:
Hickory Point Account $ 2,026.64
Checking Account $ 260.38
Money Market Fund $27,024.37
TOTAL -à>>> $29,311.39
A motion to accept this report was made by Bill Sheffer and seconded by Jeff Rocco and passed unanimously..
Under old business Gary said that Paula reported registration was just about wrapped up and that Paula wanted to thank Doug Nelson, Sherrie Fields, Donna Dodd and Tom Green for their help and assistance in getting this done.
Gary then discussed the league’s game schedule and reviewed all of the changes.
Gary also reviewed the gate responsibilities. Gary has tentatively schedule a training session for November 16 Monday evening at the Decatur Civic Center at 7 p.m. (Tenative) and another training session for the Springfield Clubs will be held on Wednesday November 18, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Rink One at the Nelson Center.
Under rules and by-laws Gary said the only change that was noted was the change to 14 minute periods – up from the previous 13 minute periods. Gary also pointed out that teams need to designate a back up goaltender. Gary also reiterated that no changes will be made to league rules once the season has begun.
Under other old business; Ted Miller, Troy Lancaster, Steve Weber and Mike Wildt were submitted as the coaches for the Decatur Team. The motion was made by Jeff Rocco and seconded by the late arriving VP Andy Gordon. The motion carried.
Under carryover penalties there was only one. This was to Adam Minder on SHS. He has one game remaining on a suspension from the last season.
The playoffs will start on 2/5/2010 with the Championship game on 2/15/2010.
Under new business in the league, Gary reiterated that both he and Dave Ryan were interested in removing themselves from the league. Gary said he had heard rumors, that LLHH was intending to merge with the Central Illinois Prep League. Gary said that if teams were interested in doing so they should begin that process now, so that the wheels could be put in motion to disband LLHH. Gary also talked about the situation in Decatur, and said that LLHH could not repeat what had happened this year. Gary asked Bill if he had any insight into the matter. Bill explained what he knew of the situation. The conversation was had to attempt to resolve the matter, much earlier in the year for the 2010/2011 season.
Jeff Rocco had asked for a hardship exemption for a player. A motion was made for this players to have reduced dues of $200.
The meeting was closed at 7:53 p.m.
